I’m sharing with you a portrait from before Christmas. This was a birthday gift for my client’s friend. It’s soft pastel on Hahnemuehle velour paper, 12x16in.

As you can see, even in so small drawings I use mainly pastel sticks. They all have at least one sharp edge to make fine details and most of pastel pencils are to hard to use on velour (but there are exceptions).
This is full body portrait so I continue with lower parts of the dog
